New Ross Educate Together is a primary school catering for children in junior infants to sixth class.

Living Arts Project Exhibition 🖼️

“The children in 4th, 5th, and 6th classes chose to use the project time to improve their drawing skills and began with exercises and pencil drawing techniques to help build confidence in their own abilities.

The children worked steadily in individual notebooks as they learned different techniques that enabled them to record their progress and ideas over time. The classes also explored how texture, colour, and mixed materials can add context and interest to a pencil drawing.

Each child chose a beloved person, place, animal, or object to learn to draw in pencil. Then they used texture-rubbing, mixed collage materials, and acrylic colours to further reflect the qualities of their subject.

The resulting artworks are a blend of the children’s dedicated technical learning and their madcap, fun self-expression!”

On Tuesday, they took part in the @faischools 5 aside cup in Enniscorthy. The girls won 2 matches and drew 1 match to top the table jointly. In the playoff for first place they lost 1-0, the only goal conceded on the day!

4th and 5th Class had a visitor today. Niall the actual Ombudsman for Children came into the class to speak with them and answer questions. Ailidh from the Office of the Children’s Ombudsman made a presentation to the class about their rights.

A huge thank you to our amazing Parents Association for organizing an incredible Scavenger Hunt yesterday! The children had a blast solving puzzles, working with maps, tackling building challenges, and playing cooperative games. To top it all off, each child got a sweet treat at the end! Such a fun and memorable day!

⭐️ Skip Around Europe Challenge ⭐️

Today we commenced our whole school skipping challenge. All pupils and staff are taking part in the 4 week challenge (2 weeks before Spring Break and two weeks after).

We’re skipping instead of our daily laps, skipping at break times and anywhere else inbetween. Our Active School Committee are taking the lead by managing the playground skipping and equipment.

3rd class totted up their skips today and they calculated that they skipped just over 4,000km which brought them to Turkey. During eating time we learned all about Turkey, its 7 regions and each of their main cities. We learned that Turkey is sandwiched between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
